On-site power with aeroderivative and industrial gas turbines, gas engines and generators.

Free for professionals · Verified practitioners · International English
A free professional network for the people who install, commission and keep rotating equipment running. Field knowledge organised the way projects are actually executed — from front-end planning to start-up and lessons learned.
Why this community
Successful machinery projects depend on dozens of decisions made long before the first roll: constructability, preservation, receipt inspection, readiness, turnover and vendor coordination. That knowledge lives with experienced people on site — and is usually lost when the project closes.
Turbomachinery Community gives that knowledge a permanent, professional home. It is a professional social network built only for rotating equipment: a working environment where practitioners exchange field experience, compare approaches and build a shared technical reference.
Industries
Members list the equipment they know and the industries they work in, so colleagues can find the right people to discuss a specific machine.
On-site power with aeroderivative and industrial gas turbines, gas engines and generators.
Refrigeration compressor trains, gas and steam turbine drivers, turboexpanders and cryogenic pumps.
Oil and gas processing, refining and petrochemicals: compressors, steam turbines and critical pumps.
Heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines and generators in simple and combined-cycle plants, plus hydro, wind and ORC heat-recovery units.

Topic hubs
Lifecycle tells you when. Hubs tell you what. Each thread is tagged to both, so a steam turbine preservation question finds the right people.

Process trains, dry gas seals, anti-surge, field testing.
Mechanical drive and generator sets, governing, trip systems.
Heavy-duty and aeroderivative packages, enclosures, fuel systems.
Critical-service and API process pumps, baseplates, grouting.
Mechanical and dry gas seals, seal gas panels, support systems.
Flushing, cleanliness targets, consoles and rundown tanks.
Couplings, gearboxes, coolers, piping and instrumentation.
Storage, inspection intervals, inert-gas blanketing, records.
Preliminary and final alignment, soft foot, thermal growth.
Baseline data, acceptance criteria, troubleshooting.
Mechanical completion, punch lists, system handover.
Failure investigation, lessons learned, recurring defects.

Who it is for
Profiles are reviewed against professional background, so every voice in a discussion carries real experience.
What every free profile includes
Moderated threads tagged by phase and hub. Questions get answered by people who have solved the same problem in the field.
Checklists, readiness frameworks, field notes and case studies contributed and reviewed by members.
Machinery experience log, certification tracker with expiry alerts and a private document vault.
Monthly technical sessions: commissioning clinics, case reviews and invited OEM talks, recorded for members.
Contact members through a secure request flow. No visible emails, no cold outreach, no spam.
Clinics, roundtables and industry conferences in one calendar, filtered by equipment type and topic hub.

Inside the community
Comparing patch-test and particle-count approaches when the vendor and the owner specifications disagree.
Desiccant, VCI and nitrogen practices, plus the records owners asked for before warranty acceptance.
Field sequences for setting the train before final piping connection, and how to document it.
Rollout
Free profiles, profile review, first hubs and clinics. Outreach to first advertisers.
Member profiles, gated discussions, topic hubs, events calendar and the technical library.
More topic hubs and clinics, an expanded technical library and advertising plans at scale.

Creating a profile is free. Every new profile is reviewed by a practitioner, so the network stays professional and focused on turbomachinery.
Questions
Yes. Profiles, networking, hubs, events and the private profile tools are free. The platform is funded by advertising and by paid recruiter accounts.
Yes, with a paid recruiter account (draft price $99 per month or $1,010 per year). Recruiters must identify themselves as recruiters and confirm a work email address. Their profiles carry a Recruiter label and they can contact members only by private message. Members choose whether to accept recruiter messages and whether to reply. See the recruiter plan and terms.
No. Turbomachinery Community is operated by Lightbulb Waves LLC and is not an employment agency, recruiter, employer or job board. It is independent of all recruiters, does not take part in any recruitment or hiring process, and is not a party to any contact, offer or agreement between recruiters and members. To the extent permitted by law, it is not responsible for the outcome. The recruiter subscription pays for platform access only, not for introductions or placements. It does not publish job vacancies or check recruiters beyond their work email address.
Applications are reviewed against professional background and recent machinery experience. Profiles show discipline, equipment specialties, industries and experience level — never private contact details.
Members must not share proprietary drawings, procedures or confidential project data. Discussions focus on methods, experience and lessons learned. Moderators remove content that breaches this rule.
International English is the official language of the platform, discussions and all published material, so practitioners from every region can take part.
Companies subscribe to an advertising plan. Ads appear on the Community front page and inside the network — in the member feed, topic hubs and events pages. Ads are always labelled and advertisers never receive member personal data.
Plans start at $150 per month (provisional prices in USD, excluding taxes). The minimum term is 3 months, invoiced quarterly in advance; annual prepaid plans save 15%. Plans renew automatically and can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice before renewal. Every ad is reviewed before publishing. See the advertising plans page for prices and full terms.
